Merry Christmas Eve Eve

It's finally winter, and you could have fooled me. And where is all this wind coming from? Just wanted to update you all on a few things.

I guess the biggest one is my parents anniversary. We got together some of their friends last night at Shogun for their 34th anniversary dinner. The food was excellent, and we had a good time. My dad tried to catch a rice ball from the chef, but he failed. It was a sad moment for the Lipscomb legacy.

A close second was Katie's accident. She had a fender-bender on Friday night. She got distracted while she was driving (probably because I sent her a text message) and hit a car in the turn lane. She was fine, and so was everyone in the other car, so that was good news. It's not a bad thing, and someone has even suggested that it was intentional. Even though that is a little funny, its definitley not true. Katie LOVES her little Honda. Well, maybe not loves, but you know.

We are going to be in C-town for a few days and Marietta for a few as well. It should be fun, we always have a good time with our families. It's finally starting to feel like Christmas. We both have a long break from work, so we're gonna live it up. Meaning that we will not do anything and hang out with Mabes.

We send out Christmas cards last week. For those of you who haven't gotten them yet or didn't give us your address, here's what it looked like:

Hope everyone is safe and warm and has a Merry Christmas!

Tis the Season

I just have to say, I love this time of year. I couldn't wait to get our tree up and the apartment decorated. I love having the tree lights on all the time and I don't understand why Justin can come in and not turn them on first thing in the morning, but he's getting the idea :) And much to our surprise, Maybel has not had any encounters with the tree so far. She really is a great dog.

Not much is going on around here except for doing some holiday things. We had a Christmas get together with our lifegroup at Blake and Danielle's on Saturday with some great food goodies and a friendly game of pictionary. The Lipscomb's officially suck at pictionary. Needless to say, we came in dead last. But that's ok, we still had fun with everyone. We took Maybel with us as well (sorry, did you really think we could do one post without mentioning her?) so that Dr. Blake could give her her 3rd round of shots. One more round and we'll be headed to the dog park. We can't wait to take her and let her loose. On the plus side of things, she is doing sooo much better on her walks and is starting to really enjoy them instead of refusing to move at all. Justin has also taught her to shake. She's very polite.

We've also started our Christmas shopping, but are still not finished. Knowing us, it will probably be close to the 24th before we're done. But we'll get it done. Other than the 70 degree weather today, it definitely feels like Christmas and I am counting down the days until our 2 week winter break!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the season as well!

Here are some updated pics of Maybel and our decorated apartment:

This was at Thanksgiving at my parents house - Maybel just wanted to be close to their dog, Dubs, but this was a rare moment. I don't think he liked her being in his house very much.

Sitting pretty for the camera

She really does love her crate, she gets in there when the door is open even when we don't make her!

The tree - Maybel loves sleeping under the table, its her usual spot
